Food Service General Manager

Job Summary of Food Service General Manager:

The Food Service General Manager role at IHOP entails overseeing the operation of a designated unit by executing crucial tasks that promote the restaurant's efficient, effective, and profitable performance. You will be tasked with managing both front-end and back-end operations, consistently upholding IHOP's quality and service standards, and motivating your team to reach sales and operational targets.

Responsibilities of Food Service General Manager:

• Execute annual financial, local restaurant marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives, strategies and tactics for assigned unit
• Recruit, train, develop and retain team members
• Conduct on-going coaching and administer the restaurant hourly compensation plan.
• Deliver performance appraisals
• Communicate and enforce company policies
• Ensure food safety and presentation is in compliance with SOP standards
• Follow and enforce proper register/cash-handling procedures.
• Implement national and local marketing promotions
• Complete all required reports and paperwork.
• Handle paperwork accurately and on a timely basis.
• Maintain personnel files with appropriate employment and legal documents.

Qualifications of Food Service General Manager:

• Competence in supervising, fostering, and cultivating a team's potential
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Proficient in analyzing and adjusting profit and loss statements to optimize financial outcomes
• Possess a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in the casual dining industry or a similar market
• Owning a valid driver's license is compulsory
• Capability in managing restaurant tools and systems, including both kitchen and customer service facilities, is necessary.
