Job Description: Line Chef

The Cook is responsible for the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products. The Cook pays special attention to speed, cleanliness, organization, and product specifications.

Food Production:

• Prepares various dishes from the Hot Choice Buffet line, such as Carving and Display Cooking items, following the recipes and guidelines provided by Golden Corral.
• Meets the quality requirements of Golden Corral by grilling all items according to their specified standards.
• Guarantees the consistent freshness and heat of every fried item.
• In the event that the Buffet Attendant is not around, the Cook takes on the responsibility of refilling the items on the Display Cooking Station.
• If the Carver is not present, they help guests by offering alternative choices of carved meats.
• Thorough implementation and following of the buffet production system to safeguard quality and meet shelf life requirements.

Operational Excellence:

• Keeps all products at the correct temperature consistently throughout cooking, holding, and serving.
• Utilizes the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide for managing the stock of all hot cook items.
• Undertakes the start and finish of administrative protocols.
• Follows the guidelines outlined in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the appropriate care and upkeep of machinery.
• Manages the replenishment and rotation of food supplies in adherence to the FIFO strategy.
• Verifies product stock and reconciles it with the Manager's build-to list at the start and conclusion of every shift.

Cleanliness:

• Verifies the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and small kitchen utensils to maintain hygienic standards.
• Manages the duty assignment and ensures that cleanliness, service, and quality criteria are met.
• Adheres to regulations set by the local health department.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation by regularly scraping and cleaning the char grill to maintain product quality.

Guest Service:

• Promises the continual freshness and warmth of Hot Choice Buffet choices, like Display Cooking items, to enhance the guest dining experience.
• Understands and adheres to the duties associated with just-in-time delivery.
• Provides amicable and respectful service to guests and assists them with their product needs.
• Upholds a standard of professional communication consistently.
