Job Summary of Prep Cook:

A Prep Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting meals that meet quality, safety, and taste standards.They follow recipes, maintain portion control, and ensure food is prepared according to company or customer specifications

Responsibilities of Prep Cook:

• A Five Guys Prep Cook grills every burger juicy and well-done, dresses various sandwiches neatly, and fries Idaho potatoes to perfection every time.
• This job pushes individuals to mastery in each individual position over a training period of 3-4 weeks.
• Each position overlaps with next, teaching a motivated Prep Cook to multi-task and cooperate with their team.
• While cooking and preparing meals, a motivated Prep Cook will also be responsible for maintaining a clean, stocked kitchen while also creating an energetic atmosphere for the customers.
• Experience in food service is always beneficial but not required.
• Being team-oriented and a strong problem solver are essential traits for this position.
• Energy and stamina - its a team-based work environment and crew energy is important.
• Ability to work at a fast pace. Our kitchens have a ton of energy, on-the-line communication and job rotation. Its not for everybody.
• Good communication. Our crew is vocal and supports and works with each other on whats happening real-time during each shift.
• Love for great food and great music We make some of the best burgers in the biz and do it to the sounds of classic rock and roll. Yes, singing is encouraged.
