Team Leader

Job Summary:

The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that each customer's experience meets or exceeds expectations. They supervise the performance of team members and lead them to perform all tasks according to company standards. The Team Leader works to maintain high levels of customer service, supports operational tasks, and participates in a skills development program aimed at career growth within Whataburger.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Communication

• Protects and promotes the Whataburger Brand at all times.
• Notifies management when unable to report to work as scheduled.
• Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
• Communicates problems outside the Team Leader's span of control to the Manager on duty.
• Strives to enhance personal leadership style and improve performance.

People

• Continues to improve job skills through performance appraisals.
• Enforces company standards with fairness and consistency.

System

• Assists with administrative tasks such as cash reporting, inventory audits, and payroll adjustments.
• Performs operational tasks as needed, serving as a role model during shifts.
• Ensures all products are prepared according to quality standards and delivered within service time standards.
• Monitors Drive-Thru production flow to ensure timely service.
• Ensures the restaurant's appearance meets Whataburger standards at all times.
• Promotes excellent customer relations within the team.
• Ensures all actions are carried out according to policy and procedure.
• Completes shift reports to communicate key events to management and other leaders.
• Ensures all equipment is operating safely and within company guidelines.

Customer

• Ensures customers are satisfied and receive their orders in a timely manner.
• Maintains the appearance of the restaurant to promote a positive image.
• Handles customer complaints according to company policy and ensures satisfaction.

Finance

• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility with company assets.
• Follows company cash handling policies and ensures accuracy.
• Monitors cash handling and inventory controls.
• Prepares cash deposits and manages the change fund.
• Controls labor and food expenses to ensure high productivity during shifts.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry, and push.
• Frequent contact with water, cleaning solutions, and food products.
• Frequent handwashing.
