Job Summary of Restaurant General Manager:

Being a Restaurant General Manager at a SONIC Drive-In restaurant entails being a leader who guides your team in an ongoing mission to offer Americans an even more delightful food service experience. Your responsibilities include training and supporting drive-in restaurant employees, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of food, and maintaining high standards for customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of Restaurant General Manager:

• Provides management, training, supervision, and coaching to crew/team members and carhops
• Oversees and designates responsibilities to drive-in diner staff as needed to ensure compliance with operational standards in food service operations
• Oversees and monitors staff adherence to the guidelines, policies, and practices outlined in the drive-in employee handbook
• Completes the required activities for initiating or finalizing operations at an eatery
• Plans and modifies employee work hours, overseeing staffing levels within the restaurant
• Makes procurements for food, paper, and other essentials in adherence to cost containment policies
• Responsible for maintaining accurate drive-in restaurant employee records and payroll records
• Promotes a culture of prioritizing the customer's experience and ensuring that employees are constantly dedicated to serving them.
• Quickly and respectfully resolves guest demands.
• Reports guest grievances to the immediate supervisor and collaborates on resolving them to ensure guest satisfaction
• Recruit and onboard new employees for restaurant crew and management roles in order to reach the necessary staffing capacity
• Produce the necessary operational paperwork and construct relevant action plans to address detrimental financial or sales trends
• Devise and implement a detailed plan for reaching and engaging target customers through various channels

Requirements of Restaurant General Manager:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields are preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), experience running shifts without supervision
• Required to work a minimum 5 day workweek with 4 closing shifts (or 4 day workweek guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations
• Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic accounting and computer skills
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems
• Problem solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills
  Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC
