Role Overview:

This job contributes to the success of Starbucks Reserve locations by providing an exceptional experience to all customers as ambassadors of coffee leadership and culinary quality stewards. Through a commitment to operational excellence, bakers work as a team to create the Starbucks Reserve Experience for customers and partners alike.

Primary Job Duties:

• Exemplify integrity, honesty, and knowledge in accordance with Starbucks' culture, mission, and values.
• Fulfill the function of an enthusiastic food expert within the store, delivering exceptional familiarity with food options, beverages, ingredient standards, and product preparation.
• Retain your poise and excel in ambiguous or high-pressure situations; set a positive precedent for your team.
• Ensure the consistency of food quality and presentation by strictly following the recipes and standards set in place.
• Maintain consistent productivity levels to support optimal customer engagement.
• Abide by the rules and measures in place for maintaining health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Persistently acquire and exchange vast culinary expertise and drink selections.
• Keep up-to-date on a diverse selection of revolving food and beverage options.
• Consistently monitor the environment within the Reserve Cafe and its surroundings to anticipate customer and store demands.
• Elevate the customer experience at Reserve Cafe by establishing connections with guests and fulfilling their desires efficiently.
• Build and complete a variety of food items listed on the menu, such as pizza, croissants, brioche, sandwiches, salads, and customized baked eggs and aperitivo treats.
• Regularly replenish and organize the food display case to uphold an appealing presentation at all times.
• Inspect a diverse range of doughs and laminated items to ensure that proofing is done accurately.
• Execute daily prepping schedules and production needs to ensure the fulfillment of variety and quantity objectives based on different dayparts.
• Follow the recommended inventory management and storage practices.
• Maintain detailed and accurate production records, including but not limited to production sheets and requisite paperwork.
• Adhere to Starbucks' operational procedures, which encompass guidelines for handling cash, ensuring safety, and maintaining security standards.

Essential Skills:

• Operating within the service industry (kitchen, restaurant, bar, or hospitality) entails engaging directly with clients to fulfill their specific requests
• Proficiency in the English language is marked by strong capabilities in reading, writing, and verbal expression
• Open to working at different times, such as early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• A food handler card might not be needed except in cases where it is a legal requirement
• Basic knife skills
• Quick grasp of new concepts
• Proficiency in deciphering and implementing verbal and written commands; seeking additional clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in working collectively, developing advantageous rapport
• Sharp focus on particulars, strong work ethics, adept at handling multiple tasks, and proficient in prioritizing assignments
• Capability for physical flexion, rotation, squatting, extension, crawling, pushing/pulling, ascending stairs, and enduring long periods of standing
• Ability to carry 35 lbs consistently and occasionally lift/push up to 50 lbs
