Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager by providing coaching to the team and creating a fun, inviting work environment. You will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and profitable business while leading and motivating the team to deliver exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring efficient business processes.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards.
  • Drive customer service excellence, training and development, sales and profit growth, and accountability across the restaurant team.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to build a team that works well together.
  • Maintain and enforce standard operating procedures of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain excellent customer satisfaction at all times and resolve customer complaints effectively.
  • Manage financial controls, cash handling, and operational costs to meet targets.
  • Conduct product and supply inventory counting and recording.
  • Schedule work shifts for team members to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Ensure all company policies regarding proper food handling and preparation are enforced throughout the restaurant.
  • Monitor and manage food and labor costs to increase profits.
  • Create and support a fun, inviting work environment that models Wendy's core values.
  • Travel to other restaurants, area office, bank, and company meetings as needed.
  • Complete routine reports, correspondence, and administrative tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build a motivated team.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and lift 25-50 pounds.
  • Mobility including bending, reaching, wiping, and carrying.
  • Ability to work 40 regular hours per week plus 10 hours of overtime.
  • Willingness to work shifts that include evenings and weekends.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and vehicle insurance coverage within applicable state guidelines.
  • Reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Strong PC skills are beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
