In charge of the Hot Choice Buffet, the Cook ensures that all food items meet the criteria of being high-quality, sufficient in quantity, delightful in taste, and freshly prepared. The Cook also emphasizes maintaining a quick pace, cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with product standards in the kitchen.

Food Production:

• Ensures that all Carving and Display Cooking dishes for the Hot Choice Buffet are made according to Golden Corral's recipes and procedures.
• Follows the specified Golden Corral procedures when grilling to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Guarantees the consistent freshness and heat of every fried item.
• In the absence of the Buffet Attendant, the Cook must replenish the items at the Display Cooking Station.
• When the Carver is not on duty, they assist guests by offering alternatives for carved meat options.
• Comprehensive application and observance of the buffet production system to uphold quality control and shelf life compliance.

Operational Excellence:

• Maintains the ideal temperature for all products throughout the cooking, holding, and serving stages.
• Utilizes the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide for managing the stock of all hot cook items.
• Handles the beginning and completion of administrative formalities.
• Maintains equipment in line with the specifications detailed in the Equipment Maintenance manual.
• Organizes food restocking and rotation procedures according to the first-in, first-out technique.
• Verifies product stock and reconciles it with the Manager's build-to list at the start and conclusion of every shift.

Cleanliness:

• Verifies the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and small kitchen utensils to maintain hygienic standards.
• Organizes the duty roster and monitors the compliance with cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
• Follows the rules and regulations enforced by the local health department.
• Regularly remove buildup and maintain cleanliness on the char grill to ensure both product quality and sanitation are upheld.

Guest Service:

• Maintains the hot and fresh quality of Hot Choice Buffet products, like Display Cooking offerings, to provide guests with a satisfying dining experience.
• Understands and adheres to the duties associated with just-in-time delivery.
• Interacts with guests in a friendly and polite manner while guiding them through product choices.
• Ensures that all communication maintains a professional tone without exception.
