Job Summary:
The Food Preparation Worker is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while ensuring high standards of service for customers and team members. Proficiency in multiple cooking stations, including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and Egg Station, is essential. Effective communication with managers, servers, and other kitchen staff regarding ticket times, potential delays, and kitchen issues is crucial. This non-exempt position also requires maintaining cleanliness, following food safety protocols, and supporting efficient kitchen operations under management supervision.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, flavor, cook, sample, slice, and present a variety of dishes including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts following recipes and product guidelines
- Maintain consistency and quality by sampling meals, adhering to standardized menus, and accurately estimating food quantities
- Keep detailed production records and request essential kitchen supplies and tools as needed
- Comply with HACCP food safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring a clean and hygienic work environment
- Use kitchen equipment and tools such as slicers, mixers, grills, fryers, and ovens
- Follow proper procedures for measuring, combining, cleaning, peeling, slicing, and shredding ingredients
- Monitor stock levels, organize items by expiration date, and rotate inventory to maintain freshness and quality, while monitoring temperature controls
- Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth and efficient kitchen operations
- Lift and transport items up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and prolonged standing
- Follow hygiene and safety protocols, including frequent handwashing and use of cleaning agents
Necessary Qualifications and Competencies:
- Previous experience in food handling and knowledge of HACCP regulations
