As a Kitchen Prep team member at Bob Evans Restaurants, you will be a crucial part of our back-of-house operations, supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring all ingredients are fresh, organized, and ready for service. Your role involves meticulous food preparation, maintaining a clean and sanitized work area, and strictly adhering to food safety standards. Responsibilities:

  • Follow standardized recipes and preparation instructions to ensure consistency in all food items.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation at all times, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
  • Utilize prep lists and communicate with management to ensure all necessary products are ready for the service rush.
  • Quickly and efficiently unpack and store incoming food and supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including frequent handwashing and proper glove use.
  • Assist other kitchen or restaurant staff as needed to support overall team operations.
  • Promptly report any food quality issues or equipment malfunctions to a manager.
  • Stand for extended periods and be capable of lifting, pushing, or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard restaurant and food handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses good judgment and can work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Able to read and organize tickets, maintain a quick pace, and possess foundational knowledge of the menu.
  • Proven track record of reliability and working well within a team.
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties, including reaching, tasting, smelling, and clear verbal communication.
  • Can freely access all areas of the restaurant, including the kitchen and stock rooms.
  • 1-2 years of related experience is a plus but not required.
