Role and Responsibilities of Kitchen Equipment Technician:

For individuals employed as Kitchen Equipment Technicians at Legacy Restaurant Group, the core responsibility involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and rectifying issues with commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment at Wendy's establishments. The position calls for a structured approach to work, the capacity to function without constant supervision, and experience in repairing a diverse selection of restaurant machinery, electrical configurations, heating systems, HVAC/refrigeration units, plumbing fixtures, and painting assignments. Your expertise in these technical areas is pivotal in maintaining the operational efficiency of our restaurants and minimizing equipment downtimes. The key tasks encompass

• Diagnose and fix malfunctions in cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC systems by troubleshooting effectively and carrying out repairs promptly.
• Provide maintenance services for commercial kitchen equipment, which may include ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking tools.
• Engage in preemptive maintenance tasks for restaurant equipment to lower the risk of sudden breakdowns.
• Display respect, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions with customers and staff.
• Perform all service calls promptly upon assignment.
• Accurately order parts and ensure all paperwork is filled out promptly.
• Join the on-call rotation roster to address urgent equipment concerns in a timely manner.
• Keep the service vehicle in a clean and orderly state, with all the essential tools and parts available.
• Rectify electrical system faults through troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Detect and repair plumbing malfunctions found in restaurant settings.
• Undertake painting projects and handle minor repairs within the facility.
• Complete tasks promptly and effectively by working independently.
• Maintain meticulous logs of the work accomplished, parts employed, and time expended on individual assignments.
• Skillfully inform restaurant managers about equipment status and the need for repairs.

Required Skills and Experience of Kitchen Equipment Technician:

• The minimum educational requirement for this role is a high school diploma or its equal.
• Effective communication skills.
• Complete commitment to exerting full effort, showing timeliness, and staying orderly.
• Uphold a professional demeanor in your appearance.
• Maintaining a valid driver's license and a record of safe driving is mandatory.
• The position entails being able to lift objects of up to 50 pounds safely, climb and balance on a ladder, and carry out tasks in elevated or high areas efficiently.
• The skill to manipulate objects, tools, or controls using hands; extend arms and hands; and communicate through speech or hearing.

Preferred Qualifications for Kitchen Equipment Technician:

• A minimum of two years of professional practice in commercial HVAC and refrigeration maintenance is preferred.
• Strong capabilities in electrical, electronic, and mechanical areas are desirable.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• An active EPA Certification is the preferred credential for this role.
• Skilled in the repair of commercial kitchen machinery following extensive training and practice.
