Job Summary of Culinary General Manager:

As a Culinary General Manager at a SONIC Drive-In eatery, your role is akin to that of a general overseeing operations to provide a thoroughly enjoyable food service experience for patrons. Key responsibilities include training and assisting drive-in restaurant staff, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of food delivery, and prioritizing an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities of Culinary General Manager:

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Crew/ Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops
• Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees as needed to ensure all aspects of food service meet operational standards
• Adheres to and monitors employee compliance of the drive-in employee handbook, policies and practices
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties
• Prepares employee work schedules; monitors and makes appropriate adjustments to restaurant staffing levels
• Monitors and maintains restaurant inventory levels. Places orders for food, paper and other supplies within cost control procedures
• Completes and maintains all drive-in restaurant employment related records and payroll records
• Reinforces a customer service mentality and ensures all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times.
• Immediately and respectfully resolves guest requests.
• Reports guest complaints to immediate supervisor and assists in resolving such complaints
• Interview and hire restaurant crew and management team members to achieve proper staffing levels
• Prepare all necessary operational reports. Develop appropriate action plans to resolve unfavorable financial and/or sales trends
• Develop and implement a marketing plan

Requirements of Culinary General Manager:

• Candidates must possess either a high school diploma or an alternative equivalent.
• Preference is shown towards candidates who have completed advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or a related field
• Candidates must have at least two (2) years of restaurant management experience, especially in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), and should be adept at leading shifts without constant oversight
• The position requires a commitment to a minimum of five workdays each week, with four of those shifts designated as closing shifts, or the alternative option of a fixed four-day workweek, encompassing non-traditional hours, weekends, and public holidays
• Competence in recruitment practices, interviewing skills, and selection procedures is pivotal for recruiting the right candidates
• Being well-versed in federal and state labor laws, as well as local health and sanitation statutes, is vital
• Leadership and supervisory techniques and abilities; adept verbal and written communication skills
• Foundational competencies in accounting principles and computer operations
• Ability to adhere to instructions and operate with autonomy post-guidance; proficiency in multitasking and successfully resolving problems
• Problem solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC
