Responsibilities:

  • The General Manager position is a high-energy role that oversees the daily operation and management of the restaurant staff. This includes the implementation of all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems.
  • The General Manager provides leadership, guidance, and development to all direct reports.
  • This role is instrumental in driving sales growth, achieving targets, and enhancing the restaurant's profitability.
  • Decisions are guided by established company policies/procedures and oversight from the Director of Operations.
  • Management duties are carried out in line with company policies and relevant laws.
  • Key responsibilities include talent acquisition, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding; scheduling, assigning, and delegating tasks; conducting performance appraisals; and managing employee recognition and disciplinary actions, including terminations.
  • Actively shapes the restaurant's culture and works diligently to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Coaches and mentors team members to foster success in their roles and ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Models professional conduct while creating a welcoming, friendly, and hospitable environment that encourages peak performance from the team.
  • Communicates sales performance and anticipated variances to the restaurant management team.
  • Disseminates corporate programs and new initiatives to the management team and staff.
  • Occasionally assists team members with their duties as needed to support operations.
  • Champions sales-building activities and encourages suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximizes table turnover, sales per guest, and sales per hour.
  • Greets and interacts with guests; investigates and resolves all food quality and service issues to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, local health and safety regulations, and company safety and security policies.
  • Enforces safe work practices to maintain a secure environment for both guests and employees.
  • Monitors daily activities to uphold quality food and cleanliness standards.
  • Controls day-to-day operations by following cash control procedures, managing inventory, overseeing food and labor costs, analyzing financial reports and schedules, and taking appropriate action.
  • Manages the restaurant's Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, including food costs, labor costs, carryout expenses, and other controllable items.
  • Controls food costs by ensuring recipes and portion controls are followed, and by being responsible for the weekly inventory process.
  • Manages labor costs by optimizing employee, manager, and key supervisor schedules and monitoring daily schedules and sales performance through the company's labor scheduling tools.
  • Ensures the proper use and maintenance of all restaurant equipment.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and all company assets.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
