Job Summary:

The Banquet Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes while providing excellent service to guests and collaborating effectively with team members. Proficiency in multiple cooking stations such as frying, grilling, pantry tasks, and egg preparation is required. Effective communication with managers and servers regarding order schedules, potential delays, and kitchen issues is essential. Maintaining cleanliness, following food safety protocols, and contributing to efficient kitchen operations are critical responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare a variety of dishes including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts by following exact recipes and directions for seasoning, cooking, sampling, carving, and presenting
  • Maintain consistency and high standards through dish sampling, adherence to standardized menus, and accurate estimation of food requirements
  • Document production processes and obtain necessary ingredients and culinary tools
  • Follow strict food safety and sanitation protocols as outlined by HACCP standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, grills, fryers, and ovens
  • Accurately measure, mix, wash, peel, chop, and shred ingredients during meal preparation
  • Track inventory levels, organize items by expiration dates, and rotate products to ensure freshness and quality

Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Experience in food preparation and knowledge of HACCP regulations
  • Minimum one year of relevant cooking experience, ideally in a fast-paced casual dining environment
  • Proficiency in various culinary techniques such as soup-making, sautéing, broiling, frying, and pantry management
  • Ability to follow instructions, protocols, and menu guidelines, while communicating effectively with guests and team members
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, twisting, and standing for long periods
  • Frequent exposure to heat, sharp tools, kitchen equipment, and hot serving dishes
  • Regular hand washing and use of cleaning solutions to maintain hygiene and comply with safety standards
