Role and Responsibilities:
As a Seasonal Cook, you will prepare and cook a variety of meals while maintaining food safety, quality, and kitchen efficiency. You will communicate effectively with team members and support a smooth workflow in the kitchen.
Prepare, season, bake, taste, cut, and plate a variety of food items including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts following precise recipes and guidelines.
Ensure consistency and quality by sampling food items, adhering to standardized menu offerings, and accurately calculating food requirements.
Maintain detailed production logs and obtain necessary ingredients and cooking tools as required.
Follow strict food safety and sanitation measures in accordance with HACCP standards, ensuring a clean and safe workspace.
Operate kitchen equipment such as dicers, processors, stovetops, deep fryers, and baking appliances safely and efficiently.
Prepare ingredients by measuring, combining, sanitizing, peeling, dicing, and grating as needed for meal preparation.
Manage inventory levels, sort items by expiration date, rotate stock consistently, and monitor product quality and freshness.
Required Skills and Experience:
Prior experience in food preparation and familiarity with HACCP guidelines.
Minimum of one year of relevant cooking experience, preferably in a busy, casual dining environment. Experience in high-volume culinary settings is advantageous.
Proficiency in various cooking techniques including soup-making, sautéing, broiling, frying, and pantry management.
Ability to understand, follow, and implement culinary standards and protocols while communicating effectively with team members and guests.
Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, rotating, and prolonged standing.
Frequent interaction with kitchen tools, cutting instruments, heated surfaces, and serving plates.
Regular hand exposure to water or cleaning solutions to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
