Job Summary:

The Cook is tasked with overseeing the quality, quantity, deliciousness, and freshness of the Hot Choice Buffet offerings. They focus on maintaining efficiency, cleanliness, organization, and adherence to product specifications within the kitchen environment.

Guest Service:

• Keeps Hot Choice Buffet products, including Display Cooking options, consistently warm and ready for guests, prioritizing their enjoyment.
• Comprehends and complies with the job responsibilities connected to just-in-time delivery.
• Shows kindness and politeness towards visitors and supports them with the merchandise.
• Adheres to formal communication protocols on a continual basis.

Food Production:

• Follows Golden Corral's instructions for preparing Hot Choice Buffet items, specifically Carving and Display Cooking products, to maintain consistency and quality.
• Meets the quality requirements of Golden Corral by grilling all items according to their specified standards.
• Maintains a standard of delivering fried dishes that are consistently hot and fresh.
• When the Buffet Attendant is unavailable, the Cook is in charge of restocking the items at the Display Cooking Station.
• When the Carver is unavailable, they provide support to guests looking for different options for carved meats.
• Comprehensive application and observance of the buffet production system to uphold quality control and shelf life compliance.

Operational Excellence:

• Ensures all items are kept at the appropriate temperature throughout the cooking, holding, and serving process.
• Relies on the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to track the inventory of hot cook products.
• Executes the starting and ending administrative processes.
• Ensures the upkeep of machinery is in accordance with the Equipment Maintenance manual.
• Organizes food restocking and rotation procedures according to the first-in, first-out technique.
• Examines product stock and verifies it against the Manager's build-to requirements at the start and end of each work shift.

Cleanliness:

• Regulates the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and kitchen utensils, ensuring dishes are thoroughly clean before being utilized.
• Manages the duty assignment and ensures that cleanliness, service, and quality criteria are met.
• Abides by the mandates of the local health department.
• Guarantee product quality and hygiene standards by keeping the char grill clean and regularly scraping off residues.
