Job Summary:

The Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of cooked meals while providing excellent service to guests and collaborating effectively with team members. Proficiency in multiple cooking stations such as frying, griddling, pantry work, and egg preparation is required. Clear communication with management and servers regarding order timelines, potential delays, and kitchen-related matters is essential. Maintaining cleanliness, following food safety guidelines, and contributing to efficient kitchen operations are key responsibilities in this non-exempt position.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare, season, sample, cut, and serve a variety of foods including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts according to recipes and culinary directions
• Maintain consistency and high standards by sampling food, adhering to established menus, and accurately estimating food quantities
• Document production processes and obtain necessary ingredients and kitchen equipment
• Follow strict food safety and sanitation protocols in accordance with HACCP standards
• Operate kitchen appliances and tools such as slicers, mixers, grills, fryers, and ovens
• Measure, mix, clean, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients accurately during cooking
• Monitor inventory, organize items by expiration dates, and rotate products to ensure freshness and quality

Requirements & Work Environment:

• Experience in food preparation and knowledge of HACCP regulations
• Experience in high-volume casual dining settings is preferred
• Proficient in culinary techniques including soup-making, grilling, frying, and pantry management
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and menu standards, with effective communication skills with guests and team members
• Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and standing for long periods
• Regular exposure to heat, sharp tools, kitchen equipment, and hot serving dishes
• Consistent hand washing and use of cleaning solutions to maintain hygiene and safety compliance
