Job Description: Hot Cook

The Hot Cook is tasked with overseeing the quality, quantity, deliciousness, and freshness of the Hot Choice Buffet offerings. They focus on maintaining efficiency, cleanliness, organization, and adherence to product specifications within the kitchen environment.

Food Production:

• Adheres to Golden Corral's guidelines and recipes when preparing Carving and Display Cooking items for the Hot Choice Buffet menu.
• Abides by Golden Corral standards while grilling to meet quality benchmarks.
• Ensures that every fried product is served hot and fresh, without compromise.
• When the Buffet Attendant is unavailable, the Cook is in charge of restocking the items at the Display Cooking Station.
• If the Carver is not around, they assist patrons in choosing from the assortment of carved meat offerings.
• Ensuring full adherence and implementation of the buffet production system to guarantee quality and meet shelf life standards.

Operational Excellence:

• Ensures that the temperature of all products is maintained correctly throughout the cooking, holding, and serving processes.
• Uses the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to oversee the inventory of all hot cook items effectively.
• Carries out the initiation and conclusion of administrative protocols.
• Ensures the upkeep of machinery is in accordance with the Equipment Maintenance manual.
• Ensures that food items are restocked and rotated following the FIFO protocol.
• Examines product availability and reconciles it with the Manager's build-to details at the beginning and end of every work period.

Cleanliness:

• Checks and cleans the Hot Cook area and small cooking tools, ensuring they meet sanitation requirements.
• Supervises the duty timetable and ensures that cleanliness, service, and quality levels are maintained.
• Observes the legislation enacted by the local health department.
• Guarantee product quality and hygiene standards by keeping the char grill clean and regularly scraping off residues.

Guest Service:

• Keeps Hot Choice Buffet options, such as Display Cooking selections, consistently heated and fresh for guest consumption.
• Understands and carries out the responsibilities associated with just-in-time delivery.
• Maintains a friendly and helpful demeanor when engaging with guests and aiding them in product selection.
• Sustains a level of professionalism in all forms of communication.
