Job Summary of Store Shift Manager:

As an IHOP Store Shift Manager, your role involves supervising staff members at the restaurant. Your main tasks will revolve around overseeing operations in both the front and back of the house, with a primary objective of increasing profitability and sales while upholding IHOP's quality and service standards.

Responsibilities of Store Shift Manager:

• Aid in the attainment of budgeted sales figures and profits.
• Establish and uphold professional and functional working bonds with colleagues and guests at IHOP.
• Roll out a Craft Training scheme designed to boost the performance of all hourly employees in restaurants, with a focus on optimizing operational procedures and customer service standards.
• Facilitate the achievement of annual financial, community restaurant marketing, customer experience, and human resources objectives, strategies, and maneuvers for the designated unit as prescribed by the current IHOP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and operational plan.
• Follow the appropriate federal, state, and local mandates that apply to the specific unit.
• Help with the enlistment, education, and longevity of team members based on the current SOP and operational framework for the appointed sector.
• Stock an ample supply of food, paper items, kitchen supplies, safety materials, janitorial products, uniforms, linens, and other assorted supplies to meet demand.
• Ensure that equipment, building structures, and premises meet federal standards and adhere to standard operating procedures to maintain operational efficiency.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards as outlined in SOP, while also following federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Comply with the security guidelines set forth in the standard operating procedure.
• Support in the fulfillment of all mandatory reports and paperwork.
• Execute tasks that are assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities of Store Shift Manager:

Supervise craft employees at an assigned unit, overseeing the overall direction, coordination, and assessment of the company's operational segment. Execute supervisory obligations following the organization's regulations and applicable legislation. Duties include conducting interviews, recruitment, and onboarding of personnel, scheduling work tasks, evaluating performance, recognizing achievements, imposing disciplinary measures, handling complaints, and resolving conflicts.

Qualifications of Store Shift Manager:

• An individual must possess a high school diploma or GED, plus two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equal combination of education and practical exposure.
• Capability in English language proficiency for verbal and written communication, as well as the aptitude to interpret documents like safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Capability in creating routine correspondence and documents.
• Competence in addressing and engaging with groups of guests or employees in a restaurant setting.
• Competence in executing basic mathematical functions within diverse measurement units, involving whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Proficiency in handling calculations related to rates, ratios, and percentages and in creating and interpreting bar graphs.
• Having the capability to implement basic reasoning to adhere to guidance given in written, oral, or diagrammatic forms.
• The aptitude to manage problems that involve multiple specific elements in established situations.
• A Driver's License that is current and valid is mandatory for driving on behalf of the Company.
• IHOP certification is earned through the completion of designated training modules.

Physical Demands of Store Shift Manager:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit.
• The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and be aware of surroundings; and taste or smell.
• The employee regularly must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work Environment of Store Shift Manager:

• Fumes or airborne particles may be present intermittently while the employee is fulfilling job responsibilities.
• The worker is regularly around moving mechanical parts and frequently encounters caustic compounds.
• Wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical shock hazards, and radiation risks are occasional exposures for the employee.
• The work environment is characterized by a moderate degree of noise.
