This job contributes to the success of Starbucks Reserve locations by providing an exceptional experience to all customers as ambassadors of coffee leadership and culinary quality stewards. Through a commitment to operational excellence, Baking Specialists work as a team to create the Starbucks Reserve Experience for customers and partners alike.

• Operate as a committed food specialist within the store, demonstrating profound knowledge of food variations, beverages, ingredient excellence, and product arrangement.

• Achieve daily production goals to contribute to a satisfactory customer experience.
• Carry out all necessary precautions and practices for health, safety, and sanitation compliance.
• Stay informed about a wide range of food-related topics and share your findings on beverages.
• Stay informed about an extensive selection of evolving food and drink items.
• Consistently monitor the setting in the Reserve Cafe and its vicinity to anticipate customer and store needs.
• Deliver a superb Reserve Cafe experience by fostering connections with customers and addressing their needs promptly.
• Craft and complete a selection of food options on the menu, ranging from pizza, croissants, brioche, sandwiches, salads, to personalized baked eggs and appetizer choices.
• Maintain an attractive display by consistently restocking the food case to ensure its appeal all day long.
• Review the proofing of various doughs and laminated products to maintain quality standards.
• Execute daily prepping schedules and production needs to ensure the fulfillment of variety and quantity objectives based on different dayparts.
• Adhere to the specified inventory management and storage procedures.
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of production sheets and any other mandatory records.
• Follow the operational policies set forth by Starbucks, which include procedures for cash management, safety measures, and security protocols.

Qualifications:

• Experience within the service sector (kitchen, restaurant, bar, or hospitality) involves direct interaction with patrons to ensure their satisfaction
• Proficiency in the English language involves competence in reading, writing, and effective verbal communication
• Capable of working varying hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• In cases where it is not a legal requirement, the possession of a food handler card is discretionary
• Basic knife skills
• Rapid cognition and comprehension
• Competency in understanding and executing both spoken and written instructions, with the capacity to seek clarification if needed
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, building positive affiliations
• Precision in paying attention to details, a committed work ethic, multitasking abilities, and expertise in setting task priorities
• Ability to bend, twist, crouch, reach, crawl, push/pull, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods with physical strength and flexibility
• Ability to carry 35 lbs consistently and occasionally lift/push up to 50 lbs
