In the position of Store Service Manager at IHOP, you will be responsible for overseeing the restaurant's employees, focusing on effective management of both front and back-of-house operations. Your main goals will include enhancing profitability and driving sales growth, while ensuring that IHOP's standards of service excellence and quality are consistently met.
Responsibilities of Store Service Manager:
Help reach the anticipated revenue and earnings targets.
Cultivate and sustain positive and operational relationships with IHOP employees and customers.
Establish a specialized training program for restaurant hourly workers aimed at enhancing unit functionality and improving the overall dining experience for patrons.
Aid in the implementation of yearly financial, local eatery advertising, customer care, and HR targets, methods, and actions for the specified location according to the prevailing IHOP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and operating strategy.
Ensure compliance with the applicable federal, state, and local regulations for the assigned unit.
Aid in the sourcing, onboarding, and upkeep of personnel as outlined in the current SOP and operational blueprint for the specified division.
Keep appropriate levels of food, paper goods, kitchen essentials, safety gear, cleaning products, uniforms, linens, and various miscellaneous items in stock.
Adhere to federal regulations and standard operating procedures to uphold the proper functionality of equipment, building structures, and premises.
Adhere to regulations set by federal, state, and local authorities, as well as standardized operational procedures, to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
Follow the security procedures as specified in the SOP.
Help with the completion of all essential reports and paperwork.
Fulfill any other responsibilities as instructed.
Supervisory Responsibilities of Store Service Manager:
Directly supervise craft employees at assigned unit with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Company unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications of Store Service Manager:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to speak and read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or restaurant employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
A valid Driver's License will be necessary to drive a car on Company business.
Certification through assigned IHOP training courses.
Physical Demands of Store Service Manager:
In the course of fulfilling job responsibilities, the employee will regularly engage in standing, walking, and sitting activities.
The staff member is regularly expected to employ their hands for tasks involving feeling, handling, or maneuvering objects, tools, or controls; reaching out with their hands and arms; bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; speaking, listening, and maintaining situational awareness; and tasting or smelling.
The employee is expected to lift and carry objects weighing 10 pounds on a regular basis, with occasional requirements to lift and move items weighing up to 100 pounds.
