Checkout Operator

Role and Responsibilities:

• Warmly welcome customers and ensure all orders are managed accurately, efficiently, and courteously.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the menu and clearly communicate product details to guests.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system or cash register to process orders, manage payments, and issue receipts and change accurately.
• Maintain precise records of all cash and payment transactions during the designated work period.
• Follow structured food preparation methods, adhering to safety and quality guidelines while completing duties promptly.
• Monitor and restock ingredients in the sandwich preparation area to ensure sufficient supplies throughout the shift.
• Comply with proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in all aspects of food preparation and service.
• Keep the restaurant environment clean, organized, and hygienic to provide a positive dining experience for customers.
• Adhere to all quality standards, operational procedures, and grooming expectations as outlined in the Subway Operations Manual.
• Perform light administrative and documentation duties as assigned by management.
• Complete required training programs at the University of Subway to enhance product and service knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective guest interactions.
• Reliable, motivated, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Capable of lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Proficiency in operating computerized POS systems and standard restaurant equipment.
