Job Summary:

The Culinary Associate is responsible for preparing a wide variety of cooked dishes while providing excellent service to customers and supporting team members. The role requires proficiency across multiple stations, including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and Egg Station. Effective communication of ticket times, potential delays, and kitchen-related matters with managers and servers is essential. The Culinary Associate also maintains a clean kitchen environment, follows food safety regulations, and supports overall kitchen efficiency. This is a non-exempt position reporting to management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts by following recipes and product guidelines for seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and presentation
  • Ensure consistency and quality by sampling food, adhering to standardized menus, and accurately estimating food quantities
  • Maintain production records and procure necessary supplies and kitchen equipment
  • Follow strict food safety and sanitation protocols based on HACCP standards, ensuring a clean and hygienic workspace
  • Operate kitchen appliances and tools including slicers, mixers, grills, fryers, and ovens
  • Measure, mix, clean, peel, slice, and grate ingredients accurately during meal preparation
  • Monitor stock levels, organize items by expiration dates, and rotate inventory to maintain freshness and quality
  • Demonstrate reliability, collaboration, and teamwork while assisting colleagues and supporting kitchen operations
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining focus on detail, safety, and quality
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and maintain flexibility to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
  • Interact positively with customers and team members, fostering a professional and inclusive work environment
  • Maintain personal hygiene and comply with all safety protocols, including regular handwashing and proper handling of cleaning solutions

Necessary Credentials and Competencies:

  • Experience in food preparation and knowledge of HACCP regulations are essential
  • Minimum of one year of relevant cooking experience, preferably in a fast-paced casual dining environment
  • Proficiency in a variety of culinary techniques including soup preparation, sautéing, broiling, frying, and pantry management
  • Ability to understand, execute, and communicate instructions, protocols, and menu options
