Within the responsibilities of the Cook is the important task of overseeing the Hot Choice Buffet products to ensure they are up to standard in taste, quantity, freshness, and quality. The Cook also gives importance to working efficiently, keeping the kitchen clean, organizing well, and following product guidelines.

Food Production:

• Follows Golden Corral's instructions for preparing Hot Choice Buffet items, specifically Carving and Display Cooking products, to maintain consistency and quality.
• Utilizes Golden Corral guidelines to grill items correctly and maintain quality control.
• Maintains a standard of ensuring all fried products are served fresh and piping hot.
• If the Buffet Attendant is not present, the Cook steps in to refill the items on the Display Cooking Station.
• If the Carver is unavailable, they support guests in choosing from the alternate carved meat selections.
• Upholding the buffet production system in its entirety to secure quality outcomes and ensure adherence to shelf life stipulations.

Operational Excellence:

• Keeps all items at the required temperature during cooking, holding, and serving.
• Relies on the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to track the inventory of hot cook products.
• Administers the commencement and closure of administrative procedures.
• Executes equipment maintenance procedures based on the instructions given in the Equipment Maintenance manual.
• Maintains food stock levels through the systematic rotation prescribed by the FIFO method.
• Conducts product checks and compares them with the Manager's inventory plan at the start and end of each work period.

Cleanliness:

• Inspects the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and kitchen tools to ensure safe food preparation.
• Manages the duty list and ensures that cleanliness, service, and quality requirements are maintained.
• Observes the legislation enacted by the local health department.
• Keep the char grill clean and scraped to maintain food quality and adhere to sanitation guidelines.

Guest Service:

• Guarantees that Hot Choice Buffet items, specifically Display Cooking products, are kept warm and fresh for guests to enjoy.
• Comprehends and complies with the job responsibilities connected to just-in-time delivery.
• Offers a warm and courteous reception to customers and supports them in finding products.
• Shows unwavering commitment to maintaining professional communication standards.
