Job Description: Culinary Associate

The Culinary Associate is responsible for ensuring that all items on the Hot Choice Buffet meet the standards set for taste, quantity, freshness, and quality. They pay close attention to working quickly, maintaining cleanliness, organizing effectively, and adhering to product specifications.

Operational Excellence:

• Maintains the proper temperature for all items while cooking, storing, and serving.
• Utilizes the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to monitor and control the availability of all hot cook merchandise.
• Oversees the inauguration and finalization of administrative procedures.
• Complies with the procedures detailed in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains food stock levels through the systematic rotation prescribed by the FIFO method.
• Assessing product levels and confirming them with the Manager's build-to list at the start and end of shifts.

Cleanliness:

• Validates the cleanliness of the cooking area and small kitchen tools, inspecting dishes for cleanliness as a precautionary measure.
• Coordinates the duty schedule and assures adherence to cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
• Complies with the requirements specified by the local health department.
• Keep the char grill clean and scraped to maintain food quality and adhere to sanitation guidelines.

Food Production:

• Ensures that all Carving and Display Cooking dishes for the Hot Choice Buffet are made according to Golden Corral's recipes and procedures.
• Grills all items according to the standards set by Golden Corral to guarantee quality consistency.
• Ensures that the quality of fried products remains high with a focus on freshness and heat.
• If the Buffet Attendant is not present, the Cook steps in to refill the items on the Display Cooking Station.
• In the event that the Carver is not accessible, they support guests with alternative carved meat choices.
• Implementation and strict adherence to the buffet production system to secure quality assurance and meet shelf life guidelines.

Guest Service:

• Maintains the quality of Hot Choice Buffet offerings, such as Display Cooking items, by ensuring they remain heated and freshly prepared for guests to enjoy.
• Understands and adheres to the duties associated with just-in-time delivery.
• Demonstrates a welcoming and respectful attitude towards customers while aiding them with their needs.
• Ensures that communication remains professional in every interaction.
