The Bar Team Member at Dave & Buster's is crucial for delivering an outstanding entertainment and dining experience to every guest. This role is a high-energy service position, actively engaging patrons, accurately processing drink and food orders, and managing financial transactions. You will be instrumental in the smooth operation of the bar area and the entire front-of-house team, ensuring a seamless flow of service while maintaining a fun, welcoming atmosphere that showcases the best of our food, beverages, and games.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system (such as Micros) for taking orders, accurately managing cash, processing credit card payments, and reconciling all transactions at the shift's close.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English are mandatory for clear interaction with guests and colleagues.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver world-class service to all patrons, striving to create a memorable visit centered on great food, drinks, and competitive gaming.
  • Maintain vigilance regarding guest behavior and service flow, promptly notifying a manager of any significant issues or operational concerns.
  • Proactively identify and resolve minor service challenges or suggest effective solutions to management as required.
  • Promote a positive, inviting, and professional environment for guests and all members of the team.
  • Strictly follow all established health, safety, and sanitation protocols for food and beverage handling.
  • Manage a personal cash bank with integrity, ensuring the precision of all financial activities, including correct change and card machine operation.
  • Uphold all responsible alcohol service policies, with a primary focus on preventing overconsumption and managing intoxicated individuals appropriately.
  • Offer a warm and swift welcome to guests entering the bar area or being seated nearby.
  • Accurately take and process guest food and beverage orders, offering expert recommendations.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the entire menu to confidently answer questions regarding preparation, ingredients, and drink options.
  • Enter all orders quickly and precisely into the POS system, noting any necessary customizations or charges.
  • Ensure all served items are correctly presented and assist in delivering items to the appropriate service area or table (running food).
  • Maintain speed and efficiency throughout the shift, consistently adhering to the Full hands in, Full hands out productivity standard.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down areas for private parties and events.
  • Support the team by helping with clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables and bar tops when business demands.
  • Collaborate with and assist colleagues whenever necessary to meet business volume and service needs.
  • Be accountable for all sales processed under your unique POS login and diligently complete all pre-shift and closing side work.
  • Actively participate in any sales-driving promotional contests or campaigns.
  • Adhere to precise portion control guidelines to manage inventory costs while ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure continuous guest satisfaction by timely check-ins, refilling drinks, removing empty dishes, pre-bussing, and immediately addressing any guest requests.
  • Maintain a highly clean and organized workstation, properly setting up and dismantling service stations.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff members to maintain a high-morale, positive, and productive work atmosphere.
  • Utilize effective communication to build excitement and promote the D&B experience.
  • Actively listen to fully understand guest requests and needs, communicating effectively both verbally and through the POS system with the team.
  • Adhere to the uniform policy, maintaining a professional, neat, and clean appearance at all times.

  • Move throughout the facility and stand for the entire duration of the shift.
