Role Overview:

This job contributes to the success of Starbucks Reserve locations by providing an exceptional experience to all customers as ambassadors of coffee leadership and culinary quality stewards. Through a commitment to operational excellence, bakers work as a team to create the Starbucks Reserve Experience for customers and partners alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, mission, and values of Starbucks.
• Serve as an in-store passionate food expert, providing exceptional knowledge of food, beverages, ingredient quality, and product preparation.
• Maintain composure and thrive in ambiguous or high-volume situations; set a positive example for the team.
• Prepare quality food items consistently by adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
• Meet production demands throughout the day to contribute to exceptional customer experience.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Continuously learn and share extensive food knowledge and beverage offerings.
• Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of rotating food and beverage items.
• Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment within the Reserve Cafe and throughout the space.
• Provide an exceptional Reserve Cafe experience by connecting with customers and responding to their needs.
• Assemble and finish food menu items including pizza, croissants, brioche, sandwiches, salads, and made-to-order baked eggs and aperitivo items.
• Stock and maintain the food display case to ensure an appealing presentation throughout the day.
• Ensure proper proofing of various doughs and laminates.
• Execute daily prep lists and production needs to meet variety and quantity goals by daypart.
• Adhere to inventory management and storage procedures.
• Complete production sheets and other required records.
• Follow Starbucks operational policies, including cash handling, safety, and security standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience in service industry (kitchen, restaurant, bar, or hospitality)
• Reading, writing, and verbal proficiency in English
• Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Food handler card (except when required by law)
• Basic knife skills
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions; request clarification as needed
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team, building positive relationships
• High attention to detail, strong work ethic, multitasking, and prioritization skills
• Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, climb stairs, and stand for long periods
• Ability to carry 35 lbs consistently and occasionally lift/push up to 50 lbs
