Internship Overview

As an intern with Canteen (part of Compass Group), you’ll get hands-on experience in how we operate and support our clients. You’ll learn best practices from industry leaders and apply them to real-world projects.

Your internship may include work in areas like:

• Marketing & Customer Service
• Retail & Merchandising
• Branch Operations & Support Services
• Finance, Purchasing & Supply Chain
• Profit & Loss Management

You'll also gain exposure to our core services:

• Avenue C Micro-Markets

Job Responsibilities

As a Canteen intern, you’ll support daily operations and contribute to meaningful projects. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with projects that improve business performance
• Supporting customer service efforts and occasionally interacting with clients
• Helping organize tasks for Micro Markets, Vending, and Coffee Services
• Sharing ideas to improve workflows and best practices
• Collaborating with your team to streamline operations and increase efficiency

Job Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you should:

1. Be currently enrolled in a college or professional hospitality or culinary program (proof of enrollment required)
2. Meet your school’s GPA requirement for internships
3. Be available to work 32–40 hours per week, based on business needs and program requirements
4. Have strong organizational skills and be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
5. Understand the basics of customer service and client relationships
6. Note: College credit is not required, but we can provide documentation if needed
