Cash Register Operator

Role and Responsibilities:

• Warmly welcome customers and process their orders efficiently and accurately while maintaining a positive demeanor.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of menu offerings and provide clear, helpful information to customers.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system or cash register to accurately record transactions, accept payments, and return correct change.
• Implement the Cash-In Procedure to ensure proper handling, recording, and reconciliation of all cash and payment transactions during each shift.
• Prepare sandwiches and food items in accordance with Subway's recipes, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
• Monitor and restock items in the sandwich preparation area to ensure consistent product availability throughout shifts.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and secure working environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across all areas of the restaurant, contributing to an inviting environment for customers and team members.
• Comply with Subway's quality standards, operating procedures, and grooming policies as outlined in the Subway Operations Manual.
• Complete assigned administrative and documentation tasks promptly and accurately.
• Fulfill the training and coursework requirements outlined by the University of Subway program.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Equivalent to completion of a standard high school education.
• Experience: No previous experience is required; must demonstrate the ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
• Ability to operate a computerized cash register or POS system with precision and confidence.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the shift, and lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
