Job Description:

In charge of the Hot Choice Buffet, the Cook ensures that all food items meet the criteria of being high-quality, sufficient in quantity, delightful in taste, and freshly prepared. The Breakfast Cook also emphasizes maintaining a quick pace, cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with product standards in the kitchen.

Food Production:

• Adheres to Golden Corral's standards by preparing Hot Choice Buffet products, including Carving and Display Cooking options, according to their specific recipes and procedures.
• Meets the quality requirements of Golden Corral by grilling all items according to their specified standards.
• Ensures that every fried product is served hot and fresh, without compromise.
• In the event that the Buffet Attendant is not around, the Cook takes on the responsibility of refilling the items on the Display Cooking Station.
• In the absence of the Carver, they help guests in making selections from the range of carved meat alternatives.
• Rigorous execution and adherence to the buffet production system to guarantee quality benchmarks and compliance with shelf life parameters.

Operational Excellence:

• Keeps all products at the correct temperature while cooking, holding, and serving them.
• Relies on the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to track the inventory of hot cook products.
• Carries out the initiation and conclusion of administrative protocols.
• Adheres to the instructions specified in the Equipment Maintenance manual for ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
• Follows the FIFO approach to arrange and replace food items in a timely manner.
• Assesses product quantities and aligns them with the Manager's build-to expectations at the onset and completion of each shift.

Cleanliness:

• Ensures that the Hot Cook area and smallwares are sanitary and examines dishes for cleanliness to guarantee food safety.
• Manages the duty assignment and ensures that cleanliness, service, and quality criteria are met.
• Observes the legislation enacted by the local health department.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation by regularly scraping and cleaning the char grill to maintain product quality.

Guest Service:

• Maintains the hot and fresh quality of Hot Choice Buffet products, like Display Cooking offerings, to provide guests with a satisfying dining experience.
• Is aware of and obeys the tasks assigned regarding just-in-time delivery.
• Acts in a pleasant and courteous manner when attending to guests and helping them select products.
• Adheres to formal communication protocols on a continual basis.
