The Beverage Specialist at Dave & Buster's plays a critical role in enhancing the overall guest experience through expert management of drink preparation and service. This position focuses on the complete beverage journey, from mixing and crafting specialty cocktails to supporting the bar staff and front-of-house team. You will be responsible for upholding high standards of drink quality, ensuring efficient service, accurately processing transactions, and contributing to the fun, high-energy atmosphere that combines the best of food, drinks, and entertainment for our guests.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skill in utilizing a point-of-sale (POS) system (such as Micros) to process payments, manage a cash bank accurately, and complete all end-of-shift financial settlements.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English are mandatory for clear and positive interaction with both guests and coworkers.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for engaging guests and promoting the unique Dave & Buster's dining and entertainment experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an outstanding level of service to all guests, guaranteeing a memorable combination of games, food, and high-quality beverages in a lively and fun setting.
  • Immediately report any operational concerns or significant issues to the direct supervisor or manager.
  • Proactively resolve customer issues or suggest effective remedies as required to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Foster a welcoming and enjoyable environment for guests and all members of the internal team.
  • Strictly comply with all company policies regarding beverage sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain full accountability for a personal cash float, guaranteeing precision in all financial activities, which includes correct operation of credit card terminals, accurate change dispersal, and managing an appropriate supply of currency.
  • Rigorously adhere to all responsible service of alcohol regulations, with a strong focus on preventing overconsumption and correctly handling intoxicated patrons.
  • Monitor guest conduct and swiftly identify circumstances that necessitate managerial intervention.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests at the bar or service area warmly and without delay.
  • Accurately receive and enter all drink and food orders into the POS system.
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of the entire menu, allowing for expert consultation on drinks, food items, and preparation methods.
  • Quickly and correctly input orders into the Micros system, ensuring all necessary modifications and associated charges are applied.
  • Ensure all prepared beverages meet presentation standards and assist in expediting drink orders to servers or service wells as needed.
  • Work with speed and efficiency, consistently implementing the “Full hands in, Full hands out” service principle.
  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of spaces designated for private events and parties.
  • Support the cleaning and resetting of bar and dining areas according to business volume.
  • Offer assistance to colleagues as necessary or whenever dictated by peak business demand.
  • Be responsible for all sales transactions completed under personal Micros login and diligently complete all pre-shift and closing side work tasks.
  • Actively support and participate in all sales-driving contests and promotional events.
  • Follow precise drink recipes and portion control standards to manage costs while maximizing guest enjoyment.
  • Ensure continuous guest satisfaction through timely drink refills, removal of empty glasses and dishware, and immediate responsiveness to guest requests.
  • Keep the beverage service area clean, fully stocked, and organized, properly setting up and breaking down all service stations.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members to ensure a positive, efficient, and high-morale work environment.
  • Must utilize engaging communication to generate excitement around the D&B experience.
  • Actively listen to understand guest requests and needs, and communicate effectively both verbally and through the POS system with guests and team members.
  • Conform to the specified uniform guidelines, maintaining a consistently neat, clean, and professional appearance.
