Role and Responsibilities:

The Subway Attendant, also known as a Sandwich Artist, represents the welcoming face of the Subway brand. This role involves greeting and serving guests, preparing food items, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and handling light administrative tasks. Delivering exceptional customer service is the cornerstone of this position.

• Provide a warm and friendly greeting to all guests and fulfill their requests promptly and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of menu items and communicate them clearly to customers.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system or cash register to record transactions and calculate total costs accurately.
• Handle customer payments and provide accurate change as needed.
• Keep track of cash, checks, and other forms of payment received during the shift.
• Prepare food methodically according to Subway's standardized formulas and deliver it in a timely manner.
• Check and restock sandwich ingredients regularly to ensure adequate supply throughout the shift.
• Follow established food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures during preparation, serving, and clean-up.
• Adhere to the three-step cleaning process to maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards in the restaurant.
• Comply with all quality standards, recipes, and operational guidelines outlined in the Subway Operations Manual.
• Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards as prescribed in the Subway Operations Manual.
• Perform light administrative or paperwork tasks as required.
• Meet the educational and performance requirements outlined in the University of Subway training program.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience is not required; however, candidates must be able to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday; capable of lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with operating computerized POS systems or cash registers is beneficial.
