The Cook is responsible for the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products. The Cook pays special attention to speed, cleanliness, organization, and product specifications.

Food Production:

• Prepares Carving and Display Cooking items for the Hot Choice Buffet by following the recipes and procedures set by Golden Corral.
• Utilizes Golden Corral guidelines to grill items correctly and maintain quality control.
• Ensures that every fried product is consistently kept fresh and served hot.
• Should the Buffet Attendant be unavailable, the responsibility of restocking the items at the Display Cooking Station falls to the Cook.
• When the Carver is unavailable, they step in to guide guests towards different carved meat selections.
• Complete utilization and observance of the buffet production system to maintain quality and adhere to shelf life requirements.

Operational Excellence:

• Ensures that all food items are cooked, held, and served at the right temperature.
• Deploys the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to regulate the stock levels of hot cook products.
• Administers the commencement and closure of administrative procedures.
• Observes the maintenance protocols outlined in the Equipment Maintenance manual for equipment upkeep.
• Adheres to the first-in, first-out method when restocking and rotating food inventory.
• Inspects product quantities and matches them with the Manager's build-to inventory during the commencement and closure of shifts.

Cleanliness:

• Maintains the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and small kitchen items, conducting regular inspections of dish cleanliness.
• Manages the duty list and ensures that cleanliness, service, and quality requirements are maintained.
• Follows the protocols set forth by the local health department.
• Uphold sanitation levels and product quality by consistently cleaning and scraping the char grill.

Guest Service:

• Maintains the quality of Hot Choice Buffet offerings, such as Display Cooking items, by ensuring they remain heated and freshly prepared for guests to enjoy.
• Recognizes and follows the position obligations in relation to just-in-time delivery.
• Displaying friendliness and politeness towards visitors and offering assistance with their product inquiries.
• Keeps up professional communication standards without fail.
