Associate General Manager

Job Summary of Associate General Manager:

Managing a SONIC Drive-In restaurant means taking on the leadership responsibility of creating an exceedingly delightful culinary journey for customers. Your primary tasks include supervising and aiding drive-in restaurant staff, ensuring that food is served with cleanliness, safety, and efficiency, and striving for exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of Associate General Manager:

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Crew/ Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops
• Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees as needed to ensure all aspects of food service meet operational standards
• Adheres to and monitors employee compliance of the drive-in employee handbook, policies and practices
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties
• Prepares employee work schedules; monitors and makes appropriate adjustments to restaurant staffing levels
• Monitors and maintains restaurant inventory levels. Places orders for food, paper and other supplies within cost control procedures
• Completes and maintains all drive-in restaurant employment related records and payroll records
• Reinforces a customer service mentality and ensures all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times.
• Immediately and respectfully resolves guest requests.
• Reports guest complaints to immediate supervisor and assists in resolving such complaints
• Interview and hire restaurant crew and management team members to achieve proper staffing levels
• Prepare all necessary operational reports. Develop appropriate action plans to resolve unfavorable financial and/or sales trends
• Develop and implement a marketing plan

Requirements of Associate General Manager:

• Applicants must have completed high school or attained an equivalent qualification.
• Applicants with advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or a related discipline are favored
• A minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience is necessary for this role, preferably in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have experience in overseeing shifts autonomously
• The schedule mandates a minimum of five days of work per week, with four of those days involving closing responsibilities, or you can opt for a set four-day workweek with potential variations in hours, including weekends and holidays
• Familiarity with the practices of hiring, conducting interviews, and making selections is crucial in the field of HR management
• Familiarity with both federal and state labor legislations, in addition to local health and sanitation mandates, is essential
• Practices and skills required for effective leadership and supervision; strong verbal and written communication capabilities
• Primary knowledge in financial record-keeping and digital competencies
• Competence in following directives and operating independently upon instruction; adept at managing various responsibilities and skillfully addressing issues
• Problem solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC
