Job Description:Broiler Cook
Within the responsibilities of the Broiler Cook is the important task of overseeing the Hot Choice Buffet products to ensure they are up to standard in taste, quantity, freshness, and quality. The Cook also gives importance to working efficiently, keeping the kitchen clean, organizing well, and following product guidelines.
Food Production:
Adheres to Golden Corral's guidelines and recipes when preparing Carving and Display Cooking items for the Hot Choice Buffet menu.
Utilizes Golden Corral guidelines to grill items correctly and maintain quality control.
Maintains a standard of delivering fried dishes that are consistently hot and fresh.
In the absence of the Buffet Attendant, the Cook is tasked with restocking the items on the Display Cooking Station.
In the absence of the Carver, they help guests in making selections from the range of carved meat alternatives.
Upholding the buffet production system in its entirety to secure quality outcomes and ensure adherence to shelf life stipulations.
Operational Excellence:
Keeps all items at the required temperature during cooking, holding, and serving.
Uses the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to ensure accurate tracking of the inventory of hot cook items.
Coordinates the start and end of administrative procedures.
Performs maintenance tasks on equipment following the guidelines set forth in the Equipment Maintenance manual.
Maintains food stock levels through the systematic rotation prescribed by the FIFO method.
Assesses product quantities and aligns them with the Manager's build-to expectations at the onset and completion of each shift.
Cleanliness:
Ensures that the Hot Cook area and smallwares are sanitary and examines dishes for cleanliness to guarantee food safety.
Oversees the duty roster and ensures compliance with cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
Abides by the mandates of the local health department.
Keep the char grill clean and scraped to maintain food quality and adhere to sanitation guidelines.
Guest Service:
Guarantees that Hot Choice Buffet items, specifically Display Cooking products, are kept warm and fresh for guests to enjoy.
Comprehends and executes the job duties connected to just-in-time delivery.
Engages with customers in a friendly and polite manner, offering assistance with product selection.
Maintains a professional demeanor in verbal and written communications.
