Job Summary:

The Culinary Team Member is responsible for preparing a wide variety of cooked meals and providing exceptional service to customers and team members. Competence across multiple cooking stations, including frying, griddling, salad preparation, and egg cooking, is essential. Open communication about order timings, potential delays, and kitchen-related issues with managers and servers is a key responsibility. Additionally, this role requires maintaining cleanliness, adhering to food safety regulations, and supporting the smooth flow of kitchen operations. This is a non-exempt position reporting to management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of dishes including soups, meats, vegetables, salads, and desserts, following precise recipes, seasoning, cooking, tasting, cutting, and plating instructions
• Maintain consistency and quality by sampling dishes, following standardized menus, and accurately forecasting food quantities
• Keep detailed production records and procure necessary culinary supplies and equipment
• Follow strict food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with HACCP standards to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
• Operate kitchen equipment and tools such as slicers, mixers, grills, fryers, and ovens
• Measure, mix, clean, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients according to proper food handling protocols
• Monitor inventory levels, organize items by expiration dates, and rotate stock to preserve freshness and quality
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and efficient service delivery
• Maintain flexibility and stamina to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods while working in a fast-paced environment
• Engage positively with coworkers and customers, fostering an inclusive and professional atmosphere
• Regularly maintain personal hygiene and follow all safety protocols, including proper handwashing and handling of cleaning solutions

Necessary Credentials and Competencies:

• Experience in food preparation and familiarity with HACCP standards are essential
• Minimum of one year of relevant culinary experience, preferably in a fast-paced casual dining setting
• Proficiency in multiple cooking techniques including soup preparation, sautéing, broiling, frying, and pantry management
• Ability to understand, execute, and communicate instructions, protocols, and menu selections effectively
