Job Summary of Dining Operations Manager:

As the Dining Operations Manager of a SONIC Drive-In restaurant, you are like a leader directing your troops in a continuous effort to enhance America's food service experience. Your duties involve training and supporting the drive-in restaurant employees, overseeing the delivery of food in a hygienic, secure, and efficient manner, and ensuring customers receive exceptional service.

Responsibilities of Dining Operations Manager:

• Supervises, coaches, monitors, and provides training for crew members and carhops
• Supervises and distributes duties to drive-in eatery employees as required to ensure alignment with operational protocols in all areas of food provision
• Checks and ensures that drive-in employees follow and comply with the guidelines, policies, and practices specified in the employee handbook
• Executes the necessary tasks for the initiation or conclusion of operations at a dining establishment
• Designs and tweaks employee work timetables, monitoring and adjusting restaurant staffing
• Procures food, paper goods, and other supplies for restaurants while following cost control guidelines
• Organizes and maintains employment-related records and payroll information for drive-in restaurant employees
• Emphasizes the importance of customer service orientation and ensures that employees prioritize meeting customer expectations consistently.
• Swiftly and courteously addresses guest concerns.
• Alerts the supervisor regarding guest complaints and actively participates in resolving them to promote guest happiness
• Carry out interviews and make hiring decisions for restaurant crew and management positions to fulfill staffing requirements
• Prepare all operational reports essential for analysis. Devise suitable action plans to tackle undesirable financial or sales trends
• Develop and roll out a well-planned marketing strategy to enhance market presence and drive sales

Requirements of Dining Operations Manager:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields are preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), experience running shifts without supervision
• Required to work a minimum 5 day workweek with 4 closing shifts (or 4 day workweek guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations
• Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic accounting and computer skills
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems
• Problem solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills
  Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC
