The Front Desk/Host role at Dave & Buster's is a critical guest-facing position responsible for orchestrating an exceptional start and finish to our Guests' ultimate entertainment experience. You serve as the initial point of contact, functioning as the primary ambassador who warmly welcomes and efficiently guides patrons through all aspects of their visit including dining, retail, and amusement game play.

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills to engage clearly with numerous Guests and generate excitement for the Dave & Buster's brand.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and professional appearance, strictly adhering to all dress code standards.
  • The ability to read, comprehend, and articulate communications in English is essential.
  • Must be proficient in clearly delivering greetings, offering assistance, and providing farewells to all Guests.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement of 16 years.

Responsibilities:

  • This essential position requires a skilled communicator who manages the flow of Guests, facilitating their journey through retail purchases, game card rentals, and seating for the dining areas.
  • Creates an unmatched Guest experience by seamlessly delivering the best combination of quality food, drinks, and games in an optimal atmosphere for maximizing fun.
  • Acts as the building's key representative, greeting all Guests with positive energy and coordination of game card sales, merchandise transactions, and phone inquiries.
  • Offers a warm welcome and smile to all Guests entering the venue.
  • Promptly and fully communicates any significant concerns or unusual matters to the immediate supervisor, proactively taking necessary corrective action or proposing alternative solutions.
  • Offers a gracious farewell to Guests departing the facility.
  • Confirms satisfaction with their visit and extends a sincere invitation for their return.
  • Prepares for the scheduled shift by ensuring the workstation is fully stocked with necessary items: menus, cutlery, Power Cards, gift certificates, etc.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organized structure of the Host station and Front Desk area.
  • Confirms that all menus are properly stocked, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Verifies the restocking of all required materials and supplies.
  • Ensures that the entire station meets or exceeds all required operating standards.
  • Communicates any areas needing improvement or resolution with the Manager.
  • Performs merchandise inventory counts both during and at the close of the shift, if applicable to the location.
  • Fosters and maintains positive professional relationships with all Team Members to promote a supportive and productive work climate that enhances team morale, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Alerts the Manager immediately regarding any Guest who appears to be dissatisfied or unhappy.
  • Offers assistance to other Team Members as needed or as dictated by business volume.
  • Accelerates table turnover rates by scouting for available tables, clearing, and wiping down surfaces as required.
  • Manages the rotation of seating assignments appropriately following guidelines to ensure fairness and balance among server sections.
  • Effectively controls the flow of traffic from the entrance, skillfully assisting Guests with their needs and providing direction as necessary.
  • Monitors and communicates wait times, sharing information with Guests, Team Members, and Managers as required.
  • Delivers silverware or setting materials to Guests immediately upon seating.
  • Processes financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including calculating change and totals.
  • Greets and assists Guests efficiently and with genuine friendliness while completing all sales transactions.
  • Responsible for accurately balancing and reconciling any money from their assigned cash bank.
  • Processes To Go food orders for Guests, ensuring complete accuracy of the transaction.
  • Sells retail items and promotional merchandise from the Front Desk, if applicable.
  • Must be capable of responding calmly and professionally to unhappy Guests and promptly escalating issues to management attention.
  • Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the core job functions.
  • When executing the duties of this role, the Team Member will routinely be expected to:
  • Work shifts during the day, night, and/or weekends as scheduled.
  • Operate in a loud, fast-paced environment with regular distractions.
  • Write and read notes by hand.
  • Lift and transport items up to 30 pounds.
  • Move throughout the facility and stand for extended periods.
  • Stand or walk for 100% of the entire shift.
  • Frequently engage in bending, reaching, and stooping motions.
