POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing all activities related to the creation, execution, extension and termination of franchise agreements, development agreements and purchase and sale agreements. Includes working with all key internal and external stakeholders, including franchisees and outside counsel, to ensure successful updating and completion of all agreements.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and monitor the preparation of required franchise documents for new development, upcoming openings, transfers, amendments, and terminations.
• Ensures all existing franchise agreements are up to date.
• Drafts and works with outside counsel on all new development agreements, renewals, amendments and terminations.
• Manages and monitors extensions and amendments of development agreements and franchise agreements.
• Manage and evaluate franchise and license agreement renewal process and lead discussions with field and corporate staff.
• Assist in the preparation of the Franchise Disclosure Document (“FDD”) including related amendments and exemptions.
• Provides support and recommendations for the franchise development and franchise sales teams.
• Manages all refranchising meetings with franchisees, field and corporate staff during the refranchising process providing updates and problem solves any potential delays.
• Handles the rollout and implementation of key internal software solutions, such as Franconnect.
• Supervises a contract coordinator.
• Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Construction Management or related field

Experience: 5 years’ experience administering franchise contracts in all aspects of restaurant or commercial development.

• Must be comfortable working cross-functionally with development, finance, operations and other functions, and making complex contractual recommendations to enable the team to make fast, smart decisions.
• Must be comfortable working closely with outside counsel to protect and enable Qdoba development.
• 2 years experience in supervising and setting direction for direct reports
• Experience working in a fast-paced growth-oriented company in the restaurant or retail industry.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Physical Requirements – Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone.

Travel – Occasional for meetings and conferences.
