Job Summary:
The Food Preparer is responsible for preparing a variety of cooked meals while ensuring high standards of service for customers and team members. Proficiency in multiple cooking stations, including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and Egg Station, is required. Clear communication with managers and servers regarding ticket times, potential delays, and kitchen-related matters is vital. This non-exempt role also involves maintaining cleanliness, following food safety protocols, and supporting smooth kitchen operations while reporting to management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, flavor, cook, taste, cut, and present a variety of dishes including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts according to recipes and product guidelines
- Maintain consistency and quality by sampling food, adhering to standardized menus, and accurately calculating ingredient quantities
- Keep detailed production logs and request necessary kitchen supplies and tools
- Ensure strict compliance with HACCP food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Use kitchen equipment and tools including slicers, mixers, grills, fryers, and ovens
- Follow proper procedures for measuring, combining, washing, peeling, slicing, and grating ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels, organize items by expiration date, and rotate stock to preserve freshness and quality
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient kitchen operations
- Lift and transport items up to 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and prolonged standing
- Follow proper hygiene and safety practices, including frequent handwashing and use of cleaning agents
Necessary Qualifications and Competencies:
