Role and Responsibilities of Equipment Technician:

As a Equipment Technician for Legacy Restaurant Group, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment at our Wendy's restaurants. You will be organized, able to work independently and have experience with repairing a wide range of restaurant equipment, electrical systems, heating systems, HVAC/Refrigeration, plumbing and painting. Your technical expertise will ensure our restaurants maintain operational excellence and minimize equipment downtime. Key responsibilities include

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC machinery to address operational issues and restore proper functioning.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on commercial-grade kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and other culinary apparatus.
• Implement preventive care on restaurant equipment to uphold its functionality and reduce the need for unexpected repairs.
• Adhere to standards of respect, courtesy, and professionalism in all customer and staff interactions.
• Timely completion of all service calls as assigned.
• Efficiently complete paperwork and order parts accurately and promptly.
• Be part of the on-call rotation schedule to handle urgent equipment situations effectively.
• Keep the service vehicle clean and well-organized, with all required tools and parts readily available.
• Conduct repairs on electrical systems following thorough troubleshooting and diagnosis.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems within restaurant settings.
• Carry out necessary painting work and provide minor facility maintenance services.
• Prioritize and efficiently complete assigned responsibilities by working independently.
• Preserve detailed records of the tasks performed, materials used, and time allocated for each job.
• Articulate information clearly to restaurant management regarding the status of equipment and needed repairs.
• Carry out other tasks as designated.

Required Skills and Experience of Equipment Technician:

• Meeting the educational criteria includes holding a high school diploma or its equal credential.
• Effective communication skills.
• Unwavering commitment to working hard, being punctual, and staying well-organized.
• Convey a professional appearance in your personal presentation.
• Having a current driver's license and a history of safe driving is a requirement.
• The position involves safely lifting objects up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders while maintaining balance, and performing tasks in elevated or high locations.
• Being capable of employing hands for touching, handling, or feeling objects, tools, or controls; extending arms and hands; and conversing or hearing.
• The skillset for walking, climbing or maintaining balance, flexing, stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, or crawling.
• Teamwork skills are vital for collaborating with colleagues, sharing responsibilities, and achieving common goals within a group or organization.
• Proficiency in operating the necessary hand and electric implements.

Preferred Qualifications for Equipment Technician:

• Candidates with a background of over 24 months in commercial HVAC and Refrigeration are sought after for this position.
• Strong expertise in electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills is advantageous.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• The preferred qualification is a current EPA Certification.
• Extensive experience in diagnosing and rectifying problems with commercial kitchen machinery.
