Responsibilities of Restaurant Shift Leader:

  • Oversees the recruitment and termination of hourly, non-managerial team members
  • Handles the onboarding, status modifications, and payroll operations for all hourly team members
  • Formulates crewmember job and training calendars
  • Supervises the performance of all non-exempt employees, involving activities like training, advising, facilitating communication, record-keeping, and other tasks within the realm of performance management
  • Functions as the designated manager during specified times and is in charge of initiating the start and end processes of the restaurant's functioning
  • Supervises cash operations and ensures transparency
  • Adapting Skills for the Position
  • Adheres to and enforces the policies and benchmarks established by Raising Cane's
  • Administers shift management meeting to enforce operational policies and safety guidelines at Raising Cane's
  • Applies relevant instruments, paperwork, and journals to bolster shift performance, record achievements, and make necessary corrections
  • Organizes the deployment of crewmembers for their duties within a specific time frame
  • Provides top-notch customer care
  • Deploys a strategy focused on utilizing reward and recognition initiatives for the restaurant's crew members
  • Allows employees to perform tasks that need approval from a manager, such as granting discounts, promotions, and handling timeclock overrides
  • Responsible for upholding the cleanliness standards of the restaurant and overseeing the maintenance of the facility
  • Performs supplementary responsibilities as instructed

Qualifications of Restaurant Shift Leader:

  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
  • Able to recognize and analyze problems, set goals, create plans and convert plans into action to solve problems
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends and travel as needed for work-related functions and training
  • 3 years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • New restaurant opening experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
    High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • Possess a valid driver's license
